Spiced mango lassi

Grind away with your mortar and pestle for a fresh and spicy blast.
3 mangoes, peeled, stones removed and chopped
250 g (1 cup) natural yoghurt
250 ml (1 cup) milk
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cardamom

Blend the mango, yoghurt, milk, honey, cinnamon and cardamom in a blender until thick and smooth. Make 2 small glasses.

Note: Lassis are popular drinks in India where they are served alongside curries – the yoghurt cools and cleanses the palate. They can also be made with buttermilk.
